MONTREAL – Thursday morning, I woke up with a sense of comfort and hope.
Hope, because two people who were brutally bullied by the press and didn’t have the support they should have had decided to take destiny into their own hands.
What do I mean by lack of support since today’s world is one of anti-bullying charities and campaigns? I am referring to the lack of support coming from your inner circle, from the people closest to you, like your family. It’s heartbreaking and it could crush you.
But, life is a funny thing. If you are lucky, friends can become your family. Strangers can be your best allies. Up-and-coming journalists and bloggers become the ultimate soldiers covering true stories without spending precious time gossiping stupidity nonsense.
The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex did something exceptional yesterday. They decided to be the captains of their own ship. They decided to protect their family. They decided to protect their legacy.
This is a new era and we can’t wait to be part of this new journey with them. Finally, up–and–coming media, like ours, may have the chance to cover their journey with authenticity and respect.
Today, some media outlets are mad and are having babies tantrum moments. We are not them. We won’t waste our precious time on stupidity because we have better things to write about like: will they create a summit about anti-bullying, women empowerment, gender equality empowerment and innovation?
We are ready to tackle this new adventure with them.
The question is, are you ready? Because it will be a hell of a ride.
