Boss Ladies

I couldn’t wait to buy the first Elle Magazine under Garcia’s leadership yesterday. I was literally like a little child in a candy store!

It’s a brand new era for women all around the world. We want to stand up for each other by supporting each and everyone of us (in both small and big ways).

Her editorial was raw and real.

Why “raw”, do you ask?

She wasn’t shy to mention that she was devastated when she was dismissed as ELLE’s fashion director. But, she never settled. Her creativity and determination is refreshing and we can feel it while reading her first essay as the new Editor-in-Chief.

Nina Garcia

I have always been an ELLE lady over a Vogue one. I want to learn more about a woman’s journey rather than looking a thousand pages of publicity.

I love fashion, but I love having some discussion or an interview mixed in. A worldly, fashionable and intelligent woman can read about the next trend and discover the journey of a courageous woman, all in the same magazine.

Nina Garcia is the right woman to take Elle into a new era!

Nina Garcia Quote

I was happily surprised to discover Katrina Lake, the founder and CEO of Stitch Fix (please come to Canada!!). We are the same age and her path to become one of the most promising entrepreneurswasn’t smooth for her, but she never gave up and she made it.

I was so inspired by the end of this article that I actually got the little boost of confidence that I needed. I’m crossing my fingers that Stitch Fix could deliver to Canada.

Katrina Lake

Hmm, maybe I should suggest it.

I saw a nice ad featuring Coco Rocha. I just love this beautiful human being. Her positivity, her spirituality and her just beautiful nature is so nurturing.

I kept smiling while slowly turning the pages.

And then, the main event – La pièce de résistance!

A sit down interview, or should I say a conversation, between two people who were reconnecting while talking about International Women’s Day, the Climate Summit, their children (and grandchildren for John Kerry), violence against women and the willingness to make our voices heard as individual, especially right now in 2018.

Angelina Jolie and John Kerry

This is the best issue I have read in 2018 so far!

The pictures were perfect and so were the articles such as “The Hero We Need”, referring of the Black Panther movie, Ava DuVernay’s “Women in Hollywood” article and Teddy Quinlivan’s essay on being a beautiful transgender model.

Teddy is wow!! She is fearless.

It was a beautiful March issue that I will cherish in my collection.

I can’t wait to see what Nina will show us in April.

Angelina is walking the walk!

I’m in front of my computer screen to write what’s going on right now in my head. I close my eyes and say to myself again in 2017, women, young children and even men are victims of sexual violence around the world and especially in developing countries.

I have finished watching Angelina Jolie’s speech at the UN Peacekeeping Defense Ministerial Conference and I feel a range of emotions such as grief, empathy for the victims and especially frustration when, in 2017, these atrocities still exist. .

Angelina UN

I believe very strongly in the day that we will have a world without wars and without violence. Until when will violence against women continue to go? During Angelina’s speech, she cites a fact that an 18-month-old child has been the victim of sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

But what the fuck 18 months… This is just so awful.

At that moment, I started to cry. She asked audience members to imagine that on their streets, trucks with armed men are invading their homes and they are attacking all women and girls in their homes in front of their family members and that As a result, the government of this country asks them to act as if nothing had happened.

It emphasizes that these acts destroy a life and a family. It was not a speech with words in the air. On the contrary, it was a speech of the most touching, most difficult to listen in the sense that it is not a fictional story but the reality. All of this, coming from a brave woman and determined to contribute to bring some peace in this world.

Angelina UN

There were no fanfares, no trumpets, but powerful words that drew her sheets of paper. A messenger ready to continue fighting the good fight. She is one of the voices of optimism in this world so gray. She does not waste her time talking about cosmetics, diets and the next party she will be attending. Rather, sometimes with her children, she puts on her backpack and goes to meet these victims to better understand, to cry with them and to bring them a small ray of sunshine while working very hard with different organizations to they find a better quality of life.

In recent weeks with all the scandals happening in the artistic and political world regarding sexual violence sexual harassment against women and even towards men, people are paying more attention.

But it should not take a scandal in the art world to talk about it. Women and girls, for example Nadia Murad, there are thousands. I hope we will pay more attention to those victims who do not have the social media to talk or make noise.

I hope we will support them and make noise for them. The abuse of power is a monster and even I would write that it’s a devil. But the power to do good to one’s neighbor with love and tolerance is angelic. Angelina is an angel on this earth and I’m sure she is not the only one.

Justin and Angelina

Every breaking waves

And your voice will be heard.

President Obama was in town yesterday for an very anticipated Montrealer crowd.

His easy-going approach, his charismatic smile and his wit make him the man you want to have a beer with and talk about anything. From the NBA playoffs to the climate change.

I do miss his slow jams news on Jimmy Fallon.

I won’t talk or should I say write about politics today but I wasn’t born when President Kennedy was giving one of the most inspiring speak of all time with this message don’t ask what your country can do but ask what you can do for your country.

President Obama is one of my inspiration for his intelligence, his charismatic interlocutor skills and his values. His speech yesterday was very Obamaesque.

I won’t spill the beans about it for the ones that didn’t have the chance to see it but thank you YouTube. I think it is on YouTube.

I enjoy hearing intelligent people being the great storytellers of our time.

Dr. Jane Goodall, Michelle Obama, Justin Trudeau, Mark Zuckerberg, Sheryl Sandberg, Angelina Jolie, Jack Schlossberg, Common and Martine St-Victor are a few of my favorite interlocutors of today.

They are the game changer of tomorrow.

I am a big believer of being a pacific person and that we should have interest in every aspect of life to understand ourselves better.

You would taught I would forget you guys and the few maragaritas cocktails were catching up on me… No no

Today, I will let the pictures speak by themselves.

They are strong, courageous, funny and passionate women that I admire. I wish I could showcase my mamma, grandmothers, aunts, mentors and friends but I will respect their privacy. You know who you are. To all the women in my life known and unknown, I would like to thank you for shaping the woman I am becoming everyday.

I got the feeling was best to come regarding Carolyn. The media put a false representation of the person she was. When you hear her friends talking about her, she was the definition of the perfect loyal friend. We all need in our lifetime a friend like Carolyn.

Two books to read by her closest friends. You will laugh and you will cry. What remains from Carole Radziwill talk about her friendship with CBK.

But the love story between her husband and herself is magnificent. I won’t tell to much but I started to read again and it did hit me since my love is fighting the same fight as Anthony. This infamous July 1999 was a very tough summer for Carole. She lost her best friend, JFK jr and the love of her life all basically at the same time. While reading this book, you will feel the strength that kept her going.

Fairy tale interrupted from RoseMarie Torenzio is another good book to read. She was John Kennedy “Jr” assistant and one of his closest friend. Her honesty and her openness to share her story make this book really beautiful journey to read.

I realize while reading  both books that Carolyn was very lucky to have fiercely good friends like Carole and RoseMarie. Amen to sisterhood.

Maya Angelou

She had such an amazing life that it is inspiring. Her poems are so touching and beautiful. Such a beautiful soul.

Some of them cherish their mother tongue language that is Creole and to be really proud to be a Haitian and singing proudly so the whole world can hear it. In each of those women, we can find a part of ourselves. Let continue to encourage them in their charities that they are doing it with love and passion.

Lee Radziwill

One sentence to describe Lee Radziwill. Elegance, an adorable sense of humour and this eternal class and aura about her. We always talk about Jacqueline Kennedy but me, Lee was and it’s still the case until now, my favorite Bouvier sister.

Jane Goodall

I’m in love with Jane Goodall. I can’t never thank enough my 2nd grade teacher when she show us a documentary about her and her love for champazes. It was actually a precious gift this documentary that I will treasure for the rest of my life.

Vogue France site web

Angelina Jolie

Her heart of gold, her goal to help others, her audacity to make movies about subject that we may not have found comfortable talking about it make her in my mind a gentle warrior.

Like us, she didn’t have it always easy but when she is always fighting for her children, for her cause and for her conviction. Sa beauté intérieure est contagieuse. Merci Angelina.
