Gareth Southgate for President

Written by Sabine Demosthenes

MONTREAL – On this chilly Tuesday morning in the city of a thousand church’s bell aka Montreal, I had this grin on my face of a proud black woman being so happy that the coach of her favorite national team supported his players that were victims of racism.

Gareth Southgate is a stand up guy. In the era of leaders, journalists and public figures not condemning racism, it’s refreshing to see the coach of one of the biggest national team in soccer (football) standing up against racism. His players that are black were being victim of monkeys chants and nazi salutes. That didn’t stop the England team to beat Bulgaria.

The abuse didn’t stop there.

Nope, nope and nope.

During the press conference, the Bulgar coach said they were no abuse and it was a friendly match.

Oh, come on.

And a Bulgar journalist said to Garett to fuck off (yes, I wrote it) because Garett is a stand up guy.

It’s not the first time an incident like this occur with the Bulgaria team.

I don’t want to tell to the FA what to do but I will. Any form of racism from a team and from his partisans should be a disqualification from this team and they should sign a big check and send it to a charity fighting for equality of all kind from a country dealing with racism. And if they don’t want to, they won’t participate in any National games of any sort.

Monkeys noise and dance… Seriously.

Racism is still being an issue in our society.

That’s so sad but I’m happy that Gareth condemns racism. It’s should do the same on the Premiership League and fellow managers should follow his lead.

I may again in my lifetime hear someone calling me a monkey, but I won’t let those sad people define me and ridicule me or anyone.

By the way, monkeys are very smart primate. I’m just saying.

The England’s team beat Bulgaria.

Who’s laughing now?
